Solana Network Activity Hits New High Amid Market Pullback
Solana's recent surge in activity has reached new heights, with over 4.51 million active addresses on its network since February. This increase is all the more notable given that it occurred during a broader market pullback.
The Solana network saw significant growth in tokenized stock transfers and meme coin trading, driving the latest activity spike. Tokenized stock transfer volume on the platform crossed $10 billion for the first time last week, a milestone that gave traders another reason to treat Solana as more than a speculative chain.
Speculative trading also played a role, with crypto influencer Ansem announcing he would airdrop part of his creator fees earned through his Pump.fun profile. This event sparked a significant surge in Solana meme coin trading, with DefiLlama data showing decentralized exchange volume rising from $1.16 billion on June 27 to $2.5 billion on June 29.
The durability question remains unresolved, however. Tokenized stock volume has leaned heavily on exposure to SpaceX, SanDisk, and Micron, while the meme coin jump came from a single influencer event.
