Solana Network Usage Soars as Token Price Plummets
Solana's network usage has reached new heights, with its average daily non-vote transactions hitting a record 112.6 million in Q1 2026. This marks a 50% increase from the previous quarter and surpasses the previous record set in Q2 2025 by 15%. Despite this growth, Solana's token price, SOL, declined by 33% over the same period to close near $83.
The real-world asset market cap on Solana grew 43% to $2.01 billion during Q1, with BlackRock's BUIDL fund doubling in value after Anchorage added custody support. Stablecoin market cap remained relatively stable at around $14.85 billion, while validator income slipped just 1% to $89.5 million.
The disconnect between network usage and token price has led analysts to frame Solana as maturing into a settlement layer for tokenized finance. However, this growth is also accompanied by falling prices, leaving long-term holders deeply underwater despite the network's record-setting first quarter.
