Solana on Brink of Finality Halt as Stake Delinquency Hits 28.83%

A near-disaster occurred on Solana's blockchain when 28.83% of staked SOL went delinquent, bringing the network to within 4.5 percentage points of losing transaction finality.

The issue was caused by a Teraswitch routing failure that affected 90 validators and resulted in a loss of $333 in rewards for them.

Marinade Finance, which manages staking on Solana, reported that 94% of the 118.89 million SOL on its autonomous system went dark due to the failure.
