Solana on Track to Overtake XRP by 2030, Analyst Predicts
Solana's market capitalization may be significantly lower than XRP's at around $87 billion, but an analyst from The Motley Fool thinks it can eventually surpass its rival in valuation. According to Alex Carchidi, Solana's speed and low transaction costs make it well-positioned for high-volume asset movement.
Carchidi points out that Solana already hosts around $272 million in tokenized stocks, a figure that rose 14% in the 30 days ending March 5. The analyst argues that even a modest shift in market share could tip the balance and give Solana an edge over XRP.
XRP's built-in compliance framework gives it an advantage with financial institutions that want to tokenize securities without building regulatory infrastructure from scratch, but Carchidi believes this will not be enough for XRP to maintain its lead. The analyst estimates that Solana would likely surpass XRP in valuation by 2030 or later.
The total market for tokenized stocks is projected to grow from around $1 billion today to more than $38 billion by 2035, providing a significant opportunity for both Solana and XRP to gain ground. At the time of writing, SOL traded at roughly $86.31, up 1.1% over 24 hours, while XRP was at $1.37, up nearly 2% in the same period.
