Solana or Bitcoin: Which Asset Will Double First?
Bitcoin and Solana are both vying to double their prices in the coming months, but each asset has different catalysts driving its potential. Bitcoin needs to break through its current record of $126,198 set on October 6, 2025, to reach a doubling point of $157,130 at its current price of around $78,565.
In contrast, Solana only needs to reclaim familiar ground and reach $206, a level it has traded near before. Standard Chartered's base case for Solana is $250 by the end of 2026, which already clears the doubling point.
The catalysts driving Bitcoin's potential are largely institutional buying and the broader liquidity environment, while Solana's network upgrades such as the Alpenglow upgrade targeting a reduction in transaction finality from about 12.8 seconds down to roughly 150 milliseconds, may also play a role. If Solana's ETF inflows continue to grow, its price could move by a larger percentage than Bitcoin's.
