Solana's price surged by 5% after Firedancer, its new validator client, went live on the mainnet. This milestone marks an end to Solana's extended beta period, according to co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko.

Firedancer is a high-performance client developed by Jump Crypto that uses C and C++ programming languages to handle heavy transaction loads and reduce network downtime risks.

During controlled testing, Firedancer nodes reportedly processed over 1 million transactions per second. This level of performance was achieved in test environments, but the real-world results will be crucial for Solana's development.

The adoption of Firedancer is still limited, with nodes controlling less than 1% of total staked SOL. However, more than 20% of validators switched from earlier experimental clients in December.
