Solana Price Target Slashed Amid Delays in Meme Coin Shift
Solana's (SOL) recent price struggles may be more than just a market correction, according to Standard Chartered. The bank has slashed its year-end price target for Solana from $310 to $250, citing delays in the blockchain's shift away from meme coin dependency.
Despite this pessimistic outlook, Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, still believes that Solana is a quality project worth investing in. However, he notes that its heavy reliance on meme coin trading may take time to overcome and reach scale.
The good news for Solana fans is that the blockchain's active addresses have nearly doubled since the start of 2026, reaching 4.8 million. This surge in user participation suggests a return to network usage rather than speculation alone, which has historically preceded price rallies.
