Solana Rally Accelerates as Major Firm Bolsters Holdings
Solana's SOL token has seen significant growth in Q3, rising by over 35% and solidifying its position among top-performing assets. However, despite this impressive gain, Solana still lags behind Ethereum's nearly 60% increase during the same period.
The disparity between the two tokens' performance is evident in their SOL/ETH ratio, which has declined by over 13% in the past three months. Nevertheless, experts argue that Solana's strong absolute growth suggests it may be undervalued relative to Ethereum.
A recent development supporting this theory comes from DeFi Development Corporation (NASDAQ: DFDV), which has expanded its treasury of Solana tokens by 55,491 SOL since August 27th. This significant increase in SOL holdings is likely driven by the company's $300 million funding facility through CHAD preferred shares.
The stock price of DFDV has responded positively to this news, surging over 77% in Q3 and indicating that market participants already factor in the company's increased exposure to Solana. This feedback loop between rising demand for DFDV stocks and increased SOL accumulation could have far-reaching implications for Solana's value.
