Solana Seeks to Overtake XRP in Tokenization Dominance
Solana's (SOL) market capitalization, currently around $50 billion, could potentially surpass that of XRP ($87 billion) by 2030 according to analyst Alex Carchidi. The Motley Fool expert argues that Solana's speed and low transaction costs make it well-suited for high-volume asset movement.
Carchidi points out that the platform is already hosting around $272 million in tokenized stocks, which rose by 14% in the 30 days ending March 5. The analyst also notes that XRP's built-in compliance framework gives it an advantage with financial institutions looking to tokenize securities without building regulatory infrastructure from scratch.
However, Carchidi believes that Solana's plans for a broader ecosystem will ultimately drive its valuation higher than XRP's by 2030 or later. This is fueled by the potential growth of the tokenized stocks market, which could reach over $38 billion by 2035.
