Solana Sees Record 263K Tokens Issued in a Single Day
The Solana blockchain has reached an all-time high in daily token issuance, surpassing the peak of the memecoin cycle in late 2024. On Wednesday, more than 263,000 new Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens were minted on the network, marking a new record.
This is a significant increase from the 40,000 to 50,000 daily tokens issued during the memecoin cycle in December 2024. The majority of these new tokens were issued through launchpads, with Pump.fun accounting for over 34,000 coins.
Pump.fun, a leading Solana-native protocol, has been generating significant revenue. In the past 24 hours, it generated $1.8 million in daily revenue, according to DefiLlama. This is impressive considering the cooling memecoin activity.
