Solana Shatters Ten-Month Losing Streak with 46% Price Surge
Solana's SOL token has ended its ten-month losing streak after an impressive 46% price surge in August. The cryptocurrency peaked at $110.38 on August 27, marking its highest value since January.
The significant rally can be attributed to several key factors, including the introduction of spot Solana ETFs in the US and Charles Schwab's decision to offer SOL trading to its 39 million brokerage users. The 'Double Disinflation' governance proposal also gained approval, slowing down the rate of new SOL token issuance.
The upcoming Transaction V1 network enhancement on September 9 will further contribute to SOL's growth by expanding maximum transaction capacity from 1,232 to 4,096 bytes. As a result, market analysts are cautioning against short selling, predicting a potential short squeeze if the price breaks above the upper trendline.
