Solana Short Sellers Wiped Out as Price Surges to Near $95
Solana short sellers suffered heavy losses as SOL neared $95. Over $33.8 million in short positions were liquidated over the past 24 hours, with approximately 80.85% of total liquidations being short positions. Binance bore the brunt of it, with around $17.9 million in SOL shorts wiped out on the exchange alone.
The price surge was fueled by a confluence of macro tailwinds, including US Treasury bond buybacks and positive political signals that fostered a risk-on environment. Crypto tends to move first and hardest when risk appetite flips.
Clusters of short liquidity between $80 and $92 acted as fuel depots along the rally's path, with each punch-through triggering stop-losses and liquidation triggers that added buying pressure.
