Solana Slashes Slot Time by 50 Milliseconds in Network Speed Boost

Solana has achieved its first slot time reduction since launch, cutting the mainnet speed delay by 50 milliseconds.

The new slot time is now 350 milliseconds, down from 400 milliseconds. This upgrade, labeled as a breaking change, will have indexing adjustments for third-party tools worked out in the coming days.

Jacob Creech, vice president of technology at the Solana Foundation, confirmed that 300 milliseconds is the next target on the roadmap.
