Solana Smashes 1 Billion Transactions, Dominates Tokenized Gold Market
Solana's network upgrades are paying off as the blockchain hit a record 1 billion weekly transactions, according to data from Blockworks. This milestone marks a significant achievement for Solana, which has been working to improve its scalability and efficiency.
The deflationary upgrade is now in its final voting stage, while SIMD-0525 is live on testnet, cutting slot time from 400 ms to 350 ms as the first step toward a 200 ms slot time. These developments are expected to further boost Solana's scalability and reinforce its core strengths.
Solana's dominance in tokenized gold is also worth noting. Since August 2025, the blockchain has led all major L1s in the growth of tokenized gold, with a growth rate of 689.1% over the past year. This puts Solana ahead of BNB Chain and Avalanche, which recorded year-over-year growth rates of 18.8% and 4.6%, respectively.
The rise in gold prices is also a positive sign for tokenized gold and Solana's dominance in this space. If the rally continues, it could drive fresh demand for tokenized gold and provide another fundamental tailwind for SOL heading into Q4.
