Solana Smashes 1B Transaction Milestone Amid Tokenized Gold Surge
Solana has achieved a significant milestone in its network performance by processing over 1 billion transactions in just one week. This feat is a direct result of the platform's ongoing efforts to upgrade and improve its fundamental capabilities.
The transaction count reached a record high of 1,012,226,009 between July 27th and August 2nd. This surge in on-chain activity further solidifies Solana's position as one of the most efficient Layer 1 (L1) networks.
The network upgrades, including the deflationary upgrade and SIMD-0525, have been gaining momentum. The latter has already gone live on testnet, reducing slot time from 400 ms to 350 ms, a crucial step towards achieving an even faster network with a 200 ms slot time.
Solana's performance is also being measured by its growth in tokenized gold, which has surged by 689.1% since August 2025. This growth rate far surpasses that of other major L1s like BNB Chain and Avalanche.
