Solana Soars: Can It Reach $1,000 by 2030?
Over the past five years, Solana's price has been on a wild ride. The cryptocurrency started at around $0.50 in March 2020 but quickly surged to $3 in early 2021 and then skyrocketed to an all-time high of $259.96 in November of that year. However, the crypto market's downturn in 2022 saw Solana's price drop steadily until it hit a low of $8 in 2023.
But Solana bounced back, rebounding from around $10 to reclaim the $100-$200 range by late 2024. In January 2025, its price surged close to $300, setting a new record high before entering a sharp sell-off phase. Currently, Solana is hovering around $100.
So what drives Solana's price changes? Experts point to macro liquidity, ecosystem technological breakthroughs, and explosive application adoption as key factors. In 2021, global central bank easing policies brought massive liquidity, attracting DeFi and NFT projects with high TPS (transactions per second) and low transaction fees.
However, the Federal Reserve's aggressive rate-hiking cycle in 2022 led to a downturn, exacerbated by FTX's bankruptcy. The meme coin frenzy and real-world asset tokenization also played a significant role in Solana's price fluctuations. Currently, there is uncertainty surrounding macro liquidity, which may lead to further downside for Solana.
Despite this, some experts predict that Solana could reach $1,000 by 2030, driven by technological breakthroughs and token deflation. This would require Solana to push through the million-TPS level, attract traditional financial institutions like Visa and Stripe, and stabilize its inflation rate at 1.5% annually.
