Solana Soars Past Rivals as Crypto Performance Revealed
A study by crypto technologist and investor Paul Barron compared the performance of four major cryptocurrencies - Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), XRP, and Solana (SOL) - from August 2020 to now. The results show a stark contrast in growth rates, with Solana outperforming the rest.
Solana's price grew from $1.52 in August 2020 to around $77.26 today, resulting in a whopping +4,970% increase or 50.7x its original value. This translates to a return of over $49,700 on an initial investment of $1,000.
By contrast, Ethereum grew by +455% (5.5x) from $347 to around $1,923, making it worth $5,550 with the same initial investment. Bitcoin also rose by +452% (5.5x), taking its value from $11,811 to approximately $65,181 and yielding a return of $4,520 on $1,000.
XRP, however, trailed behind with a growth rate of +301% (4.0x) from $0.26 to around $1.04. This translates to a gain of just over $3,000 on the same investment.
