Solana Speed Boost: Network Prepares for Four-Phase Upgrade
The Solana network is gearing up for a significant upgrade aimed at doubling its block production speed. According to information reported by BeInCrypto, the network plans to reduce its current 400-millisecond block production interval to 200 milliseconds. This change will result in new blocks being produced approximately every 0.2 seconds.
As part of this four-phase upgrade, Solana aims to increase its transaction capacity and overall network performance. The update is considered a crucial step towards achieving the network's scalability goals.
The first phase of the upgrade is scheduled to be activated with epoch number 1020, where epochs represent periods covering a specific number of slots in the Solana protocol.
