Solana Staking ETF Reaches $1 Billion in Assets Under Management
Bitwise's Solana staking ETF has reached $1 billion in assets under management (AUM), marking a milestone for the asset manager. The BSOL fund achieved this feat exactly 10 months after its launch, according to Bitwise.
Most of the $1 billion in inflows arrived during a bear market, indicating that investors continued to build exposure despite challenging conditions for digital assets. This is notable, as it suggests that institutional allocators are committing to Solana (SOL) even when markets are weak.
The success of BSOL has contributed to the growth of the wider Solana ETF category, which now holds around $1.43 billion in assets and represents about 2.35% of SOL's market capitalization. This is a significant milestone for Solana, as it joins Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) as one of only three cryptocurrencies with ETFs exceeding $1 billion in AUM.
Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley pointed out that the growth of these large-cap ETFs can deepen liquidity, attract larger institutional investors, and make assets more accessible through conventional brokerage accounts. The Solana recovery has reinforced this trend, with SOL climbing roughly 46% this month and reaching a market capitalization above $60 billion.
Institutional access is also expanding beyond ETFs, as Charles Schwab announced plans to add spot trading for Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink to its Schwab Crypto platform in the coming months. This could give Solana a larger foothold among traditional investors who prefer not to manage tokens or wallets themselves.
