Solana Staking Giants and Mysterious Whales Unveiled
Solana's staking landscape is more complex than meets the eye. Despite the network's price hovering above $100, some of its biggest players are quietly putting billions to work behind the scenes.
Coinbase stands out as Solana's largest staker, holding 24 million SOL worth approximately $2.45 billion, representing about 2.33% of Coinbase's aggregate assets estimated at $105 billion.
While this is a significant amount, it pales in comparison to Coinbase's massive BTC holdings, which exceed $74.81 billion. The Solana Foundation follows closely with its staking withdraw authority controlling 23 million SOL valued at around $2.42 billion.
Binance and Jito also feature prominently on the leaderboard, each holding over $1 billion in SOL through their respective liquid staking pools. However, things take a mysterious turn with four unknown whales collectively controlling more than 20.6 million staked SOL worth approximately $2.1 billion.
