Solana's price surged by 25% over the past week, breaking above the $90 mark for the first time in months.

This significant rally came after the US Securities and Exchange Commission introduced a new regulatory framework targeting cryptocurrencies.

The sharp increase in trading activity led to massive liquidations of short positions worth $4.6 billion across the crypto market, with August 18 seeing $2.9 billion in short liquidations, one of the highest daily liquidations ever in the sector's history.

A key on-chain indicator has reappeared, showing a crossover of 30-day and 50-day moving averages for daily active users, which was last observed in June 2025 and previously linked with Solana's price soaring from $145 to $245.
