Solana Surges as USDC Adoption Hits Record High

Circle's Solana-based USDC issuance has reached new heights, with $3 billion minted in a single 24-hour window. This is one of the largest single-day USDC issuances on Solana to date and marks a significant trend for institutional capital.

The $11 billion in gross USDC mints that occurred on Solana in August alone highlights Circle's systematic ramp-up of USDC issuance on the blockchain throughout 2026. In mid-June, Circle minted $500 million in two $250 million tranches, while a single-day mint of $1 billion was recorded later that month.

The partnership between BNY Mellon and Circle has facilitated institutional minting and custody of USDC directly on Solana, reducing friction for large institutions seeking exposure to the Solana DeFi ecosystem. This collaboration is a key driver behind the growing trend of USDC adoption on Solana.
