Solana Surges Past $100 Amid Institutional Buying and Whale Accumulation
Solana's SOL token has broken above $100 after months of trading in a subdued range. Over the past seven days, it surged by more than 24%, and over the last month, it has risen by nearly 50%. This is Solana's strongest monthly performance since early 2024.
One major whale wallet accumulated around $13.2 million in SOL within the last week, while DeFi Development Corp (DFDV) purchased 19,000 SOL tokens at an average price of $98.14. DFDV now holds over 2.3 million SOL tokens and intends to keep them as a strategic long-term reserve asset.
Market analysts believe that if SOL can hold its breakout above the $100-$103 range, it could reach resistance levels around $120-$130, with some even projecting an upside target of $150. The upcoming SIMD-0550 governance vote is expected to have a significant impact on Solana's price development.
