Solana Surges Past 263K Token Mints in Single Day

Solana's token-creation infrastructure reached a new milestone on September 10, when more than 263,000 SPL tokens were minted in one day.

This is a significant increase from the previous peak of around 40,000 to 50,000 tokens created daily during the memecoin cycle in December 2024.

The surge can be attributed to automated launchpads making it possible for users with little technical expertise to create and distribute new assets.

Pump.fun was the dominant launchpad behind this portion of Solana's token-creation activity, accounting for 34,184 tokens issued through public launchpad platforms.
