Solana Surpasses $1 Billion in ETF Assets as XRP Remains Behind
Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley recently highlighted that only three crypto assets have crossed the $1 billion mark in terms of ETFs: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. The latter's Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) reached this milestone exactly 10 months after its launch. Bitwise's BSOL has attracted significant capital due to its built-in annual yield of around 5.8%, generated through staking directly within the regulated ETF.
Horsley commented on X that the lack of a $1 billion XRP ETF is not biased, simply a reality. He pointed out that there is no native staking at all on the XRP Ledger, which cannot generate new tokens to pay staking rewards. The only alternative for funds could be the XRPL Lending Protocol, currently undergoing a validator vote.
Despite strong investor demand, U.S. spot XRP ETFs collectively have $1.44 billion in net assets with cumulative inflows reaching $1.66 billion. However, without yield, no individual fund has managed to reach the $1 billion mark. The Bitwise XRP ETF leads the segment with 44% of the market and $632.03 million in assets.
Horsley's own fund needs approximately another $368 million in net assets to reach the coveted $1 billion threshold, which would depend entirely on the appetite of long-term investors.
