Solana's decentralized exchanges (DEXs) reached an impressive milestone on January 6th, with a 24-hour trading volume of nearly $3.8 billion according to DefiLlama data.

This figure surpassed the combined trading volumes of Ethereum and Base, which stood at around $1.7 billion and $1.2 billion respectively.

Solana's growing influence in the DeFi sector is reflected in its rising trading volume, highlighting its competitive position against Ethereum.

The Solana network has seen significant growth in total value locked (TVL) over 2024, increasing from around $1.4 billion to over $9.5 billion - a fivefold increase during the year.
