Solana Takes Lead in Meme Coin Market, But BNB Chain Closes Gap
The meme coin market has seen significant growth, adding nearly $3 billion on Thursday. The sector's total value now stands at $29.3 billion, an almost 10% increase from the previous day.
Three blockchains - Solana, BNB Chain, and Robinhood Chain - are vying for a share of this money. However, data suggests that only one is truly winning in terms of volume traded.
A closer look at the numbers reveals that while Solana processed $3.01 billion in decentralized exchange trades over 24 hours, BNB Chain handled $1.25 billion and Robinhood Chain managed $510.8 million. This means Solana took a significant share of the three chains' total flow, with its launchpad token Pump.fun contributing to this growth.
However, when it comes to fees earned, the picture changes. BNB Chain earned nearly twice as much value from each dollar traded compared to Solana and Robinhood Chain. This is reflected in the totals, with Solana taking 63% of the three chains' volume but only 55% of their fees.
Despite this, Solana remains the clear winner in both volume traded and total fees earned. BNB Chain takes second place on both counts, while Robinhood Chain ranks third.
