Solana Unveils Major Upgrades to Boost Efficiency and Complexity
Solana is set to launch Transaction V1 on September 9, which will enable more complex operations and increase transaction size to 4,096 bytes.
This upgrade is part of a series of improvements aimed at reducing rent costs by 90%, with the network beginning a five-step reduction starting from August 31. The goal is to lower the amount of SOL developers must lock for accounts.
The network has also seen a reduction in slot times, now sitting at 350 milliseconds, with plans to further shorten this to 200 milliseconds in stages. This is expected to improve transaction speed and efficiency.
