Solana Validators Narrowly Pass Double Disinflation Proposal
Solana's network-wide governance vote has concluded, with validators narrowly approving a proposal to double the pace of new SOL issuance reduction. The 'Double Disinflation' measure, SGP-0002, cleared the two-thirds approval threshold with roughly 67% support.
The first on-chain governance exercise saw three Solana Governance Proposals put to stake-weighted votes. While SGP-001 and SGP-002 passed comfortably, SGP-003, which aimed to restructure transaction fees, failed with about 54% support.
Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz described the result as passing 'by a literal hair,' given the close vote margin.
