Solana's SOL token has finally ended its prolonged stretch of declining months, closing its first positive monthly candle since September 2025. This comes after a lengthy downtrend that drove SOL from highs above $250 in late 2025 to a cycle low around $60.

The strong performance in August saw SOL gain approximately 40-50%, reclaiming the key $100 level, and ending its decline. According to Lookonchain, a long-dormant Solana whale returned to the market, purchasing 76,856 SOL worth about $8 million from Hyperliquid.

This whale's intentions are unclear, but their renewed activity has generated considerable attention across the crypto community. The trading conditions remain volatile, with SOL currently trading near $102.47 and having fallen 1.28% in the past 24 hours.
