Solana's $1 Billion ETF Milestone Bolstered by Institutional Access
Bitwise's Solana ETF has surpassed $1 billion in assets under management (AUM) just 10 months after its launch, making Solana one of only three crypto assets with an ETF above that threshold. The milestone comes as SOL rebounds sharply and major financial firms expand access to the token.
The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, BSOL, reached $1 billion in AUM exactly 10 months after launch, according to Bitwise. This influx of capital arrived mostly during a bear market, indicating investors continued building exposure despite difficult first-half conditions for digital assets.
Across the wider category, U.S. Solana ETFs now hold about $1.43 billion in assets, representing approximately 2.35% of SOL's market cap. The market's reaction to BSOL crossing $1 billion in AUM was telling, with Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas pointing to roughly $1.7 billion in cumulative flows across the entire category, with little evidence of sustained withdrawals despite earlier downturns.
Solana's recovery has reinforced this trend. SOL has climbed approximately 46% this month and is about 80% above its June low. The token has moved back above $100, pushing its market capitalization above $60 billion. Institutional access is also broadening outside ETFs, with Charles Schwab planning to add spot trading for Solana, Avalanche, and Chainlink to Schwab Crypto in the coming months.
