Solana's Activity Surge Raises Questions About Real Demand
Solana's recent activity spike has raised questions about real demand for the network. The platform saw a significant increase in active addresses, reaching 4.51 million, its highest level since February.
This surge in activity came despite a broader market pullback, with Solana trading near $73.54 after a seven-day gain of about 7%. In contrast, Bitcoin fell roughly 4.9% and Ethereum dropped about 6% over the same period.
The growth in tokenized equities on Solana is seen as a key driver of the network's activity. Record growth in this area, tied to increased discussion around xStocks since June 26, contributed to SOL's recovery above key technical levels. Tokenized stock transfer volume on the platform crossed $10 billion last week for the first time.
Solana is becoming a go-to chain for real trading activity, according to Santiment. Continued momentum would strengthen the case that SOL's bounce has network support.
