Solana's Institutional Money Flood Brings Price Surge and Network Boost
Solana's token price has been on an upward trajectory, reaching its highest level since late January. On August 27, SOL traded at $110.38, a significant milestone for the cryptocurrency.
The surge in price is largely attributed to institutional money pouring into Solana. U.S. spot Solana exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have collected around $1.34 billion in cumulative net inflows since launching in October 2025, according to sosovalue.com statistics.
Charles Schwab's decision to add Solana to its cryptocurrency offerings will also provide a significant boost to the market. The company oversees more than $12 trillion in client assets and has around 39 million brokerage accounts.
The upcoming September will be crucial for Solana, as it will introduce a rent reduction that could slash onchain storage costs by up to 90%. This could further incentivize developers to create token accounts, non-fungible tokens, and tokenized real-world assets.
