Solana's (SOL) price has plummeted over 70% from its all-time high of $293 set in January 2025, reaching as low as $87 by March. The crypto market is under pressure due to geopolitical turmoil and the collapse of the memecoin economy, which had fueled much of Solana's revenue.

Bitcoin (BTC) traded near $71,000 on Mar. 14, down from its cycle high of $126,230 recorded in Oct. 2025, while the total cryptocurrency market capitalization hovered around $2.41 trillion.

The European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulations took full effect on Jan. 1, 2026, providing a clearer operating framework that encouraged new participation from traditional finance players across the continent.
