Solo Miner's $244K Jackpot Ends 40-Day Drought
The Bitcoin network's mining lottery occasionally hands out winning tickets to solo miners. In this case, a Braiins Solo participant discovered block 966351 on Thursday and collected 3.147 BTC, ending a nearly 40-day drought without a solo block.
Braiins CEO Eli Nagar congratulated the miner who found the winning hash, saying 'Somewhere, someone's having a very good day.'
This is not the first time a solo miner has hit a jackpot. On August 2, another miner collected 3.1569 BTC through Solo CKPool.
The odds of finding a solo block are brutal, with individual miners competing against industrial operations that command staggering amounts of computing power and havehate.
