Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon has endorsed the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, also known as the CLARITY Act. This bill aims to establish a consistent regulatory framework for digital assets, exchanges, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Solomon's comments suggest that Goldman Sachs favors a framework legitimizing crypto assets as financial instruments.

The CLARITY Act would require exchanges and brokers to register with either the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), impose reporting and transparency obligations on market makers, and introduce standards for decentralized platforms.

Goldman Sachs's support is significant because it indicates that regulatory clarity is critical for institutional investors. The bill would enable banks to offer crypto custody, lending, settlement services, and tokenized products.
