Sony-Backed Exchange Lists Cardano and Midnight Tokens in Japan

S.BLOX, a Japanese exchange backed by Sony Group, has listed two tokens on its platform. The exchange enabled trading for Cardano's ADA and simultaneously listed NIGHT, the native token of the Midnight sidechain, on August 24. This move marks the first time NIGHT has been available on a domestic exchange in Japan.

The listing is significant because it required rigorous technical evaluation and compliance with Japan's Financial Services Agency. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson described this as 'significant' during a recent livestream, highlighting the importance of meeting these regulatory requirements.

To encourage adoption, S.BLOX launched promotional programs offering rewards in ADA and NIGHT to registered users who meet certain operational requirements. These campaigns are running throughout August and offer up to 10,000 yen in ADA and 14,000 yen in NIGHT as incentives.
