Sorted Wallet Seeks to Tap 1 Billion Users with Crypto-Friendly Feature Phones
Sorted Wallet is making headway in bridging the gap between cryptocurrency adoption and global accessibility. With over 100 countries already covered, this self-custodial wallet aims to reach a staggering 1 billion users by the end of the year.
The challenge lies in the compatibility issue with low-end devices, particularly feature phones, which are still widely used in regions such as Africa and Southern Asia. Sorted Wallet has identified this gap and is working to adapt its platform to accommodate these devices.
In September last year, the company received a $1.5 million investment from Tether Operations Limited to further streamline its initiatives for faster financial inclusion. The wallet's design allows users to store assets like Bitcoin and hedge in stablecoins like USDt to mitigate risks associated with local currencies.
