South Korea Fails to Keep Pace with Global Tokenization Surge
The global market for tokenized stocks and bonds has surged to $2.51 billion as of August 4, representing a 273.37% increase from $673.01 million at the start of the year, according to Digital Times.
This growth reflects a broader trend toward digitizing traditional financial assets on distributed ledgers, with major financial hubs developing regulatory frameworks to accommodate tokenized securities.
However, South Korea remains notably absent from this growth due to its lack of legislative progress on security token offerings (STOs) for standard securities.
