South Korea Scraps Crypto Transaction Threshold in Regulatory Overhaul
South Korea has taken a significant step in tightening its crypto regulations by eliminating the minimum threshold for its crypto Travel Rule. This means that all transactions between registered virtual asset service providers (VASPs) will be subject to strict regulatory compliance, regardless of the transaction size.
The move is part of South Korea's ongoing effort to regulate the cryptocurrency market and prevent illicit activities such as money laundering and terrorist financing.
With this new measure, VASPs in South Korea will need to comply with the Travel Rule for all transactions, including those below the previous threshold. This is expected to increase transparency and security in the crypto market.
