South Korean Investors Flood Crypto Market as Bitcoin-Driven Rally Continues
The cryptocurrency market has seen a significant surge in trading volume, particularly among South Korean investors. The market's strong rise, led by Bitcoin, has drawn back investors who had initially turned away from crypto assets during the bear market that began in late 2025 and continued into 2026.
According to Upbit, South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange, trading volume increased by 273% in the last 24 hours, reaching $1.84 billion. This figure represents the highest daily volume the exchange has seen since mid-March. XRP was the most traded cryptocurrency on Upbit, with a trading volume of approximately $418.9 million.
Meanwhile, Bithumb, the country's second-largest exchange, saw its trading volume increase by 132.9% to $934.9 million. XRP also topped the list as the most traded cryptocurrency on Bithumb.
