South Korean Police Crack Down on Fake XRP Staking Platform
South Korean authorities have made significant progress in cracking down on cryptocurrency scams, with the recent arrest of three individuals allegedly involved in a fake XRP staking platform.
The suspects are accused of defrauding 71 investors out of 3.4 million XRP, worth approximately $9 million.
Police identified the fake platform as Fxrpntwork.com and reported that they have frozen 17.3 billion won in digital assets on overseas exchanges.
The case highlights the growing threat of staking scams, which often prey on investors' familiarity with legitimate yield-generating platforms.
