South Korean Regional Bank Joins Ripple Network
South Korea's financial landscape has taken another step forward with the adoption of Ripple Payments by Jeonbuk Bank. The regional bank is now the first in South Korea to use this infrastructure, which aims to provide faster and more efficient cross-border payments for business customers.
Ripple targets Korean businesses that regularly send money abroad, including import-export firms, tech startups, and online content creators. Traditional international transfers often take several days due to the SWIFT network's intermediary banking process.
Ripple Payments aims to shorten this process significantly, with transfers settling within seconds to minutes and available 24/7. According to Ripple, regional banks like Jeonbuk play a crucial role in South Korea's economy.
