Sovereign Funds Sign On for Digital Asset Charter in Delhi
The BRICS Digital Asset Round Table is set to take place in New Delhi on September 12, where 50 industry leaders will gather alongside investors managing $1 trillion. The event marks a significant step towards mainstream adoption of digital assets.
According to the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, sovereign capital has been slowly moving towards crypto through bitcoin ETFs and public-market products. However, this meeting is more direct, with digital asset firms from BRICS and partner countries sitting alongside investors.
The charter being discussed at the roundtable will cover issuance, custody, settlement, and investor protection. It's not a pledge to buy tokens but rather a set of principles that could change how sovereign funds view tokenized assets.
Tokenization is only getting serious when the asset underneath is something big institutions already understand, such as infrastructure or energy projects.
