SpaceX AI Surge Sends Revenue Projections Soaring
Analysts have significantly boosted SpaceX's revenue projections for 2027 to $100 billion, driven by the company's expanding artificial intelligence segment. The AI division is now expected to contribute $60 billion in revenues for that year, a substantial increase from earlier forecasts of $38 billion.
This rapid growth trajectory has led analysts to revise their estimates for SpaceX's long-term financial performance. Instead of experiencing cash depletion through 2030, the company is now projected to achieve positive free cash flow during this period.
Looking ahead to 2031, analysts anticipate AI-generated revenues reaching $530 billion for SpaceX, compared to earlier projections near $150 billion. Finance expert Aswath Damodaran from NYU has cautioned that leasing computational infrastructure to companies such as Google and Anthropic may limit future value creation for the company.
Revised valuation frameworks suggest that each additional $100 billion in annual AI revenue achieved by 2036 translates to approximately $10 in current share value. At present trading levels, SpaceX shares are valued at roughly 34 times projected 2027 Ebitda, compared with multiples of around 25 for GE Aerospace and GE Vernova.
