SpaceXAI Unveils Plans for Grok 4.6 and 2.1 Trillion-Parameter Grok 4.7
Grok 4.6, the latest model from SpaceXAI, is set to launch on August 7th, according to Elon Musk. The new model boasts 1.5 trillion parameters and improved post-training capabilities in supervised fine-tuning and reinforcement learning.
Musk also announced plans for a larger Grok 4.7 model, which will have 2.1 trillion parameters and is expected to follow a few weeks after the launch of Grok 4.6. However, he noted that Grok 4.7 may be slightly slower to serve due to its increased size.
The upgrades come as SpaceXAI seeks to stay competitive with other major AI players, including OpenAI and Anthropic. The company has not yet disclosed pricing details for the new models.
SpaceXAI's Grok 4.5 model, which was released earlier in July, ranked first in a cybersecurity price-performance assessment by Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch. However, Rauch also noted that OpenAI's GPT-5.6 Sol remained the leading frontier model in terms of performance.
