SpaceX's first earnings report as a public company revealed a significant holding in Bitcoin. The company holds 18,712 BTC, valued at $1.098 billion as of June 30, 2026. This makes SpaceX one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin globally.

The company disclosed its Bitcoin position in its S-1 filing before its IPO, revealing a cost basis of $661 million and an average price per coin of around $35,300. Despite a $539 million decline in value over the first half of 2026, SpaceX remains in a substantial unrealized gain of roughly $437 million.

The company's Bitcoin position is marked to market each period, resulting in a non-cash markdown that tracks the price fall of Bitcoin. This means that if the price of Bitcoin recovers, the value of SpaceX's holding will increase accordingly.
