Spark Protocol Continues Token Buyback Despite Revenue Drop
Spark Protocol, a DeFi lending platform, is repurchasing its own tokens using revenue generated from its services. Over 100 million SPK tokens have been bought back with $2 million in funds allocated to the program. This strategy was approved by governance early this year and aims to reduce circulating supply while enhancing token holder governance and staking rewards.
The buyback plan allocates 10% of monthly surplus revenue for token repurchases, demonstrating a disciplined approach to managing token supply and treasury funds. Notably, the program continues despite a significant drop in revenue - 31% less than Q1 2026 levels.
