Srinivasan's Network School Finds New Home in Kazakhstan Amid Controversy

Share

Network School, founded by Balaji Srinivasan, has found a new home in Kazakhstan after being shut down in Malaysia. The tech community had operated without incident until a social media video sparked a regulatory crackdown and led to its closure on July 21.

Srinivasan, former CTO of Coinbase, signed an MOU with Kazakh authorities just a day after the shutdown. He promised that the new campus would be a hub for global techno-optimism, with expedited visas and streamlined redomiciliation.

Malaysia shut down Network School due to allegations that Israeli nationals had joined its program, entering the country on second-country passports. Despite finding no evidence of travel document violations, the authorities revoked the business license, citing breaches in licensing conditions and premises-use requirements.
