St. Louis Trio Charged with Kidnapping Plot Tied to Massive Bitcoin Heist
Three men from St. Louis, Sedric Louis, John Davis, and Martel Williams, face up to 20 years in prison for their role in a kidnapping plot tied to a massive Bitcoin theft worth hundreds of millions.
The trio was tasked with breaking into a Connecticut home and forcing the owner to transfer the stolen cryptocurrency into accounts controlled by the scheme's coordinators. The men stalked the family for two days, using air rifles and rental cars, but ultimately abandoned the operation due to fear of being caught on camera.
Another crew from Florida arrived shortly after, carrying out a violent carjacking of a Lamborghini Urus and arresting six men on August 25, 2024. This incident is part of a larger case that has grown steadily since early 2025, with several individuals already pleading guilty to related charges.
